Cool New Update: Fuel Cap Tether
Here's a simple and super useful update... adding a tether to the full cap.
One of the constant annoyances we pilots face is what to do with the fuel cap when adding or removing fuel from the fuel tank. Whether it is dropping, misplacing, or outright forgetting to reattach the fuel cap, this has been a source of worry and problems for many pilots.
This new fuel cap tether beautifully resolves these issues with a low cost, low weight, easy install solution. The new fuel cap tether keeps the fuel cap permanently attached to the machine. No more misplacing it. No more dropping it in the sand. And if you forget to reinstall it, it's not going into the prop. Additionally, the tether can be quickly and easily removed for service or travel.
The tether is a 18" dyneema line, folded in half, with an overhand knot at the ends. The line is fed through the small vent hole in the fuel cap. Then the line is attached to the frame. The entire install procedure takes less than 5 minutes to complete and requires a small allen tool. Please see the latest Moment Assembly Manual for detailed instructions and photos.
Note: thanks to Troy R. for the pointing out this problem and offering great inspiration for this genius idea. :)
